Thriftway Match (4/27-5/3)

So sometimes you are not always winning the battle but just holding your ground. Right now we are in a season where my coupon skills are not being used (or cooking skills, cleaning, planning...). But that's okay and there is a season to everything and for that it means holding our ground and keeping priorities. My food needs are changing and so are my food desires :) so we are re-evaluating. At this point we have decided that it is time to adjust our food budget up to $250/month. I would encourage everyone to periodically check where coupons have a place and where they don't. I look forward to the day when my grocery bill for the month is only $150 and hopefully that is sooner than later! After a month of not couponing (literally not clipping for at least 3 weeks) I jumped right back in. This is what my husband helped me get at Dillon's this last week.

It's a good day! Great deals in many places right now including Thriftways (always a good stock up time with holiday sales). If there is a match up that is missing its because you can find it cheaper elsewhere.  Don't forget to look at your Dollar General for some great matches this week.

Just FYI I have heard many people tell me that they have not been able to use their paper coupons if they have identical ecoupons loaded to their cards at Dillon's. Since the paper coupons double remember it is usually better not to use the ecoupon- its an either/or thing now- no more "stacking" even on accident. I would suggest not loading any ecoupons to your card unless you know you don't have a paper coupon and plan to use it quickly (so you don't forget.) Computers will beep and your paper coupon will not be accepted, just beware!

Thriftway Match (3/9-3/15)

Another big Best Choice sale so no much for me to blog about. Remember that if you have to get something and do not have a coupon- try generic! It will save you money and usually the product is not to different than its name brand counterpart. 

I wasn't able to head to town to go to Dillon's so I sent the hubby. I think he did a fantastic job. He even went to Wal-Mart after and used coupons there (without a list!)- he even took the box into Dillon's. He's amazing, so glad we are on the same page with couponing and saving!

Total was $12.18 (an 84% savings) Only thing the kids want to eat (since they've been sick)
is cereal, so hopefully they get better and won't keep using 5 boxes a week!

Thriftway Match (2/23-3/1)

Sorry this is coming out a little bit late, when there is a holiday on Monday the Thriftway flyers come a day late. There is a great 10/$10 sale going on right now, but remember that just because its a $1 doesn't mean its a "good deal"! There is a big 10 for $10 sale going on. But remember to look at price per ounce/lb/etc, its not a good deal just because it $1! (I did this a few weeks ago at Dillon's- rookie mistake, I know!)  Also, if You have the February All*You magazine there are some great coupons in it to use this week (like the Taco Bell one). I guess the grocery stores know that most people are not shopping for "food" these next few weeks as sales are low- which is okay with me, my food hangover is still trying to wear off! There are some fantastic sales going on on the Thriftways this week especially if you are prepping for Thanksgiving or Holiday baking. Thriftway Coupon Match (11/10 - 11/16)

HOPEFULLY you have been to Dillons and taken advantage of their Mega Event sale! I scored my highest savings ever of 96% and spent $3.04. Most that was spent 2.14 was on Mentos Gum that I wanted for Christmas stockings. This sale has carried over and if you want to know more about this sale it will be part of the lesson at my FIRST coupon class!
